Labour migration from Kenya has shifted towards Gulf countries, with over 300,000 Kenyans working mainly in low-wage jobs. Remittances from workers abroad have significantly increased, reaching $5 billion in 2024. However, reports of human rights abuses, including forced labor and inhumane working conditions, continue to plague migrant workers.
