The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) issued a final warning to filmmakers, distributors, broadcasters and exhibitors about mandatory licensing. A three-month grace period expires on June 4, 2026. The Act requires all films to be submitted for examination and classification before distribution. Non-compliance has hindered filmmakers from commercially exploiting their works or showcasing them in film festivals.
