At the monthly conference on June 9, 2026, in Abuja, Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu charged senior officers to remain proactive, intelligence-driven, and adaptive to security challenges. Since May 2026, the Force arrested eight suspected terrorists, 55 kidnapping suspects, 65 armed robbery suspects, 29 murder suspects, and 42 cultists, rescued 88 kidnap victims, and recovered 114 firearms, 843 rounds of ammunition, and 28 stolen vehicles. Disu directed Commissioners of Police to strengthen intelligence gathering, deepen community policing, and engage local stakeholders.
