Kidnapped Benue cleric dies after regaining freedom, Mrs. Ortom mourns

Rev. Samuel Gbinde, senior pastor of the Universal Reformed Christian Church (NKST) in Guma LGA, Benue State, was kidnapped two weeks ago by suspected armed herdsmen along with two church members. After a ransom was paid, he was released but died days later from injuries sustained during torture. Dr. Eunice Ortom, PDP candidate for Benue North-West Senatorial District in the 2027 elections, mourned his death and condemned the worsening insecurity in Benue State.
