Knut, SHA Agree to Remove Tariffs, Raise Last Expense Benefits to Ksh300K to Avert Strike

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), the Social Health Authority (SHA), and the Ministry of Health have signed an agreement to resolve medical scheme challenges and avert a teachers' strike. Key resolutions include the full restoration of the Last Expense Benefit set at Ksh300,000, with 160 pending claims processed. Additionally, SHA has agreed to immediately withdraw tariff locking, allowing teachers to access care without out-of-pocket fees.
