Kongo-Central: Cholera epidemic declared in Boko Kivulu, 4 confirmed cases

A cholera epidemic was declared on April 8, 2026, in the health zone of Boko Kivulu, with four confirmed cases out of five recorded, including one child. According to Dr. Cosinus Lema, the epidemic started in the village of Zamba due to population movement, leading to the displacement of about 83 residents. Response measures have been implemented, including the deployment of a team on the ground and training of health personnel.
