Benin: Patrice Talon plans to live in Ouidah after his term

Beninese President Patrice Talon announced his intention to settle in Ouidah after his term during a surprise visit to Djègbadji beach on April 6. This statement was well received by the citizens present, who applauded his project. Talon will leave office on May 23, 2026, adhering to the Constitution he strengthened to limit presidential terms to two. Ouidah, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is also home to the Ouidah Blue Festival.
