KPA Accelerates Port of Mombasa Expansion With New Berth Project

The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) is accelerating expansion of the Port of Mombasa with construction of Berth 19B. The new berth will add 240 metres of quay length and a draft of 15 metres, enabling handling of vessels up to 45,000 deadweight tonnage. Once completed, it will increase annual capacity by 300,000 TEUs. The expansion aims to address rising cargo volumes and strengthen the port's position as a logistics hub for East and Central Africa.
