Kenya Power insurance tender rules found to flout procurement law

The Public Procurement Administrative Review Board (PPARB) criticized Kenya Power for restricting an insurance tender to underwriters without unsettled claims. The tender requirements were deemed discriminatory and in violation of the law on fairness and competition. PPARB also struck down a condition disqualifying brokers linked to insurance claims outstanding for more than 90 days.
