KRA Eyes Dual Assessments as Only 2 in 5 Kenyans Pay Taxes

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is facing a compliance challenge, with less than half of Kenyans actively paying taxes, resulting in a revenue shortfall of about Ksh982 billion. Commissioner George Obell noted that the informal sector complicates tax collection, with many individuals under-reporting their income.
