Kuwait Bans Domestic Worker Recruitment From Kenya and 26 Other Countries

Kuwait has imposed a ban on recruiting domestic workers from Kenya and 25 other African countries, according to a circular from the Ministry of Interior. The decision follows assessments by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, and the Public Authority for Manpower. Only 10 countries are now approved, including South Africa, Ethiopia, and the Philippines. Nearly 3,500 Kenyans working in Kuwait risk losing their jobs and may be forced to return home.
