Starting in April 2026, the Democratic Republic of the Congo will begin temporarily receiving nationals from third countries expelled from the United States, according to a statement from the Congolese Ministry of Communication. The logistical and technical support will be provided by the U.S. government at no cost to the Congolese treasury. This mechanism respects national sovereignty and international commitments, and does not constitute an outsourcing of migration policies.
