Cameroon: FSNC Calls Its Suspension a “Non-Event”

The FSNC calls its three-month suspension by Territorial Administration Minister Paul Atanga Nji a “non-event,” saying it had already decided to boycott the electoral process after the October 12, 2025 presidential election. In a statement, the party denounced the measure as intimidation and said an administrative decision cannot silence its political convictions. Order No. 000163/A/MINAT, signed on October 27, 2026, bans all party activities in Cameroon and cites allegations including calls for insurrection, threats to national unity, and public disorder. The order provides for prosecution of violators and assigns enforcement to governors, prefects, and sub-prefects.
