Bandits invade Niger community; kill five; abduct 150

Bandits invaded the Baga community in Shiroro local government of Niger state, killing five villagers and abducting 150 others. The attackers, armed with sophisticated weapons and bombs, set several houses ablaze, causing many villagers to flee into the bush, where some were shot. The local government chairman, Mr. Ishyaku Bawa, confirmed the incident and stated that local vigilante members were injured while trying to repel the attackers.
