Woman caught at airport with 36.65 kg of cocaine hidden in dried chili peppers

Qhina Beauty, a 34-year-old South African woman, was arrested at Lagos’s Murtala Muhammed International Airport as she prepared to fly to South Africa via Doha. Nigeria’s NDLEA found 30 cocaine blocks weighing 36.65 kg in her two bags, divided into seven packages and concealed with dried chili peppers. She allegedly said she had come to collect the drugs in exchange for a promised 20,000 rand; information she provided led to the arrest in Lagos of 46-year-old Uchenna Victor Umunnakwe, suspected of arranging her accommodation. Investigators are continuing efforts to identify other suspected members of the network.
