Three Years After Hidden Debt, IMF Signs Its Return to Senegal with $2.2 Billion

An agreement has been reached between Washington and Dakar for a $2.2 billion financing program over three years, following a mission led by Mercedes Vera Martin from the IMF. This new agreement comes after the suspension of a previous program due to irregularities in public debt accounting. The program aims to restore public finance viability and strengthen internal revenue mobilization, as public debt reaches 132% of GDP.
