The Kaolack Research Brigade arrested M. B. Sow, also known as Mody, on March 29, 2026, in Sandiara after ten months on the run. He is suspected of participating in the armed attack on the Le Pélican Hotel in Ndangane, which occurred on the night of May 1-2, 2025. Charged with multiple offenses, he was placed in custody after being presented to the investigating judge on April 1, 2026. Five other members of his gang had already been arrested in May 2025.
