The trial chamber of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals announced the termination of proceedings against Felicien Kabuga, who passed away on May 16, 2026. Kabuga was accused of involvement in the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, which resulted in the deaths of over one million people. Presiding Judge Justice Iain Bonomy instructed that Kabuga's death certificate be filed on the record as soon as it is received.
