Reps launch probe into alleged funding of PFIPC

The Nigerian House of Representatives has set up an ad hoc committee to investigate the alleged funding of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC). Lawmaker Yusuf Gagdi filed an urgent motion after reports that over N1.3 billion was allocated to the unrecognized agency in the 2026 budget. Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the Director-General of PFIPC, alleges that the President's Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, received N400 million through a proxy and demanded an additional N200 million to facilitate his appointment. The Presidency has dismissed the claims, calling Adeyemi an impostor.
