China urges reversal of UNIFIL departure from Lebanon as conflict escalates

China's UN Ambassador Fu Cong stated the need to reconsider the UN Security Council's decision to end the UNIFIL mandate, set to conclude later this year. He noted that a genuine ceasefire does not exist in Lebanon and urged Israel to stop its bombardments. According to Lebanese authorities, Israeli attacks since March 2 have resulted in 2,618 deaths and displaced over one million people.
