Court allows billionaire Kibunga Kimani to exit Sh205m Makuyu land sale

Businessman John Kibunga Kimani won a reprieve after the Court of Appeal overturned a previous decision by the Environment and Land Court that ordered him to complete the sale of land worth Sh205.3 million. His firm, Rural Development Services, had signed an agreement to sell 51.28 acres to African Cotton Industries in July 2013, but the transaction stalled due to family opposition. The court found that the prompt refund of the deposit significantly weakened the buyer's claims of loss.
