Israel's Supreme Court has unanimously struck down a government policy barring the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) from visiting Palestinian detainees, ruling it violates Israeli and international law. The decision, which follows a petition by the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI), means over 9,000 Palestinian security prisoners will now receive ICRC visits for the first time in nearly three years. The policy had been in place since the Hamas-led attack on October 7, 2023.
