Navy raids Dayspring Island, destroys militant hideouts

The Nigerian Navy has intensified its crackdown on criminal networks by launching a major offensive against militants and kidnappers along the Calabar–Oron channel in Cross River State. The operation targeted Dayspring Island, resulting in the destruction of a hideout linked to a wanted militant kingpin known as 'Juju'. Troops also apprehended a suspected informant aiding the militant network, while a 13-hour restriction on maritime movement has been imposed in the affected area.
