Navy dismantles 12 illegal refineries, recovers 531,500 litres of stolen crude

The Nigerian Navy conducted over 183 successful operations in the first quarter of 2026, recovering 531,500 litres of illegally refined petroleum products and arresting 18 suspects linked to oil theft. Twelve illegal refinery sites, four storage facilities, and three vessels were also destroyed. Operations were particularly intensified in Delta, Rivers, and Bayelsa States, with notable seizures of substantial quantities of crude oil.
