MONUSCO strengthens its protective presence in Djugu and Irumu, Ituri

Since May 4, MONUSCO has intensified its presence and rapid response capacity in the territories of Djugu and Irumu in Ituri province. This reinforcement includes the deployment of mobile operational bases in Lipa, Lauju, Boga-village, Kasenyi, and Mukasila. Following an armed attack on April 28, security patrols have been established to deter armed groups and protect civilians. Additionally, MONUSCO escorted 24 displaced civilians to Iga-Barrière and ensured the secure transport of 25 students to Bunia for their exams.
