Itsekiri nation rejects substantial portion of INEC report

The Itsekiri nation, led by Sunny Mene, has reiterated its rejection of a substantial portion of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) report on the ward redelineation exercise in Warri federal constituency. Mene, flanked by other Itsekiri leaders, stated that the exercise violates constitutional provisions and the Electoral Act. INEC released its proposal on May 20, 2026, in Asaba, Delta State. The Itsekiri claim the process ignored proportionality, geographical contiguity, and community identity.
