Police arrest father, teenage son over alleged illegal firearm in Ogun

The Ogun State Police arrested 38-year-old Joseph Kehinde and his 13-year-old son for illegal possession of a firearm on April 5, 2026. The suspects were intercepted during a stop-and-search operation on the Shagamu/Ogijo Road, where a locally made pistol, a live cartridge, and a mask were found. The son claimed the firearm belonged to his father, leading to the father's arrest. Both suspects were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
