A 26-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murdering former British government minister Ann Widdecombe has been released and is no longer a suspect. Police believe the killing occurred on Wednesday, 8 July, around 11:30 GMT, a day before her body was found at her home. There is no evidence of terrorism or political motivation. Widdecombe, known for her socially conservative views, served as a Conservative MP and later as a Reform UK spokesperson.
