Police in Mombasa have uncovered a car theft ring operating with a number plate-swapping scheme. Suspects stuck printed paper plates over original plates, making vehicles hard to track. After a high-speed chase, several suspects were arrested and stolen property recovered. Mombasa is the second-highest hotspot for vehicle theft in Kenya after Nairobi, with over 1,000 cars stolen annually nationwide.
