Police vow justice for POS lady raped, dumped in canal

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a suspect in the brutal rape and murder of a female Point of Sale (POS) operator whose body was found in a canal in Sangotedo-Ajah. Police PRO SP Abimbola Adebisi stated that the discovery was made on July 14, 2026, following a distress call. The victim was sexually assaulted before being killed, and her body was recovered near the Shoprite complex. Lagos Commissioner of Police CP Tijani Fatai has ordered a thorough investigation, and the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba.
