Vietnam police rescue more than 400 cats from animal theft crime ring

Police in Ho Chi Minh City seized over 400 stolen cats in a bust of a cat meat crime ring. More than 40 cats were reunited with owners, but dozens died due to harsh conditions. Nine suspects were detained. The operation highlights the scale of Vietnam's cat meat trade.

EFCC asked to enforce interim forfeiture court order against Abuja developer

The Initiative Against Human Rights Abuse & Torture (INAHURAT) has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to enforce an interim forfeiture order issued by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja against properties owned by developer Rebecca Godwin-Isaac in Guzape and Katampe districts. INAHURAT's lawyer, Maxwell Opara, stated at a press conference that despite the order, the property at Plot 4022, Guzape District, continues to be developed in violation of the law. He urged the EFCC chairman to comply with the court order to preserve the subject matter and boost the confidence of the nominal complainant, octogenarian widow Mrs. Colleen Mero Yesufu.
