Civil society warns of the resurgence of insecurity in Djugu and Aru

The Ituri civil society coordination reported a resurgence of insecurity in the territories of Djugu and Aru, with dozens of deaths and significant damage. Dieudonné Lossa, its coordinator, urged the government to take urgent action to prevent a return to past massacres. Recurring attacks by the CRP and ADF militias have been reported, as well as massacres in the village of Bassa by CODECO militants. The provincial government stated that operations are underway to restore state authority.
