Douglas Shaw's suspension looming as class action against major banks faces delays

Lawyer Douglas Shaw, who represented hundreds of applicants in a R60 billion class action against four major banks, has had his mandate canceled. The Legal Practice Council (LPC) is seeking an urgent suspension order from the Gauteng High Court after it was revealed that Shaw appeared in court without a Fidelity Fund Certificate. Judge Leonie Windell emphasized that Shaw could not continue without this essential certificate for attorneys.
