Africa recorded a 4.1% increase in the number of millionaires in 2025

In 2025, Africa saw a 4.1% increase in the number of millionaires. Morocco recorded the highest growth at over 16%. Globally, the number of millionaires reached 25.3 million, a 7.9% rise, according to Capgemini's World Wealth Report 2026. The total wealth of global millionaires stands at $98.3 trillion.

EPRA Cancels Public Hearings After KPLC Withdraws Electricity Tariff Review

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has cancelled public hearings on electricity tariff reviews after Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) withdrew its application. Current retail tariffs remain unchanged. Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi announced the decision followed government consultations. KPLC had applied for a tariff review on March 31, 2026, set to take effect from July 2026 to June 2029.
