Lagos govt shuts Access Bank branch over untreated sewage discharge

The Lagos State Government closed an Access Bank Plc branch in Victoria Island after discovering untreated sewage discharge into the public drainage system. This action followed a whistleblower complaint and findings by the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office. Commissioner for the Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, emphasized that the closure was necessary to protect the environment and ensure compliance with state laws.
