Cape Town Rings Alarm Over Rising Drunk Driving Rates

The City of Cape Town has raised concerns about the increasing rate of drunk driving, with 108 motorists arrested in one week. Traffic officers recorded 60 drunk driving cases, along with two for reckless and negligent driving. Additionally, 176 public transport vehicles were impounded and 1,392 warrants of arrest executed. The Democratic Alliance (DA) welcomed the deployment of 71 road safety ambassadors across five regions to enhance road safety.
