Launch of sanitation works in Kinshasa by the National Service

Young people of the National Service, known as the Builders, launched a major sanitation operation in Kinshasa on July 15, 2026, starting at Masina-Pascal on Lumumba Boulevard. The operation aims to clear illegally occupied public spaces and remove waste from gutters. Illegal vendors were evicted and trash collected. Residents applaud the initiative, while some female vendors denounce the use of whips and request designated market areas.
