Nigerian military thwarts ISWAP attack in Borno, intensifies air, ground patrols

On June 3, suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Boko Haram terrorists attacked a forward operating base in Gajigana, Nganzai Local Government Area, Borno State. Nigerian troops repelled the attack, neutralizing one terrorist and recovering a motorcycle and ammunition. Authorities have intensified air and ground patrols across key flashpoints in the North-East, including routes around Maiduguri and Alau Dam.

Troops neutralise nine terrorists, arrest 31 nationwide

Troops of the Nigerian Armed Forces, in collaboration with other security agencies, have neutralized nine terrorists, arrested 31 suspects, and rescued more than 16 kidnapped victims during coordinated operations across the country.
