Lasting security begins with defeating ignorance, hopelessness — Defence minister

Defence Minister Gen. Christopher Musa said lasting national security must be based on defeating ignorance and hopelessness. He spoke on Friday at the June 12 Special Edition of The Platform Nigeria in Lagos. He acknowledged the military's successes in neutralizing terrorist leaders but noted that modern threats like banditry, kidnapping, and cybercrime are adaptive. He paid tribute to the sacrifices for democracy and called for a technology-driven evolution in defence strategy.
