Lauren Laverne diagnosed with blood disorder smouldering myeloma

Broadcaster Lauren Laverne, 48, has revealed on Instagram that she has been diagnosed with smouldering myeloma, a blood and bone marrow disorder that can develop into blood cancer. The risk is low and she does not need treatment at the moment. The diagnosis comes two years after a previous cancer for which she had received the all clear. She is taking a couple of weeks off before returning to her BBC shows.
