Ivan Meyer's DA future hangs in balance

Ivan Meyer, the Agriculture MEC, was defeated by Solly Msimanga in the race for DA federal chairperson at the party's congress over the weekend. After more than a decade in the DA's leadership structures, Meyer stormed out of the plenary hall following the announcement of the results. In a social media post, he congratulated Msimanga and expressed his commitment to work together for the upcoming local elections in 2026.
