Lawmakers behind constituency project ‘abuse’ will face consequences - Mahdi Shehu

Public affairs commentator Mahdi Shehu warned that lawmakers involved in the abuse of constituency projects will face the consequences of their actions. He was reacting to reports that at least 16 federal ministries, departments and agencies received over N205.96 billion for projects outside their statutory mandates in the 2026 Appropriation Act. Shehu accused some National Assembly members of using constituency projects for personal gain, hiding money in agencies, intimidating agency heads, and awarding inflated contracts to companies linked to themselves or their associates. He stated that painful lives await them for betraying the trust reposed in them.
