Lawyers from the Mbuji-Mayi bar organized a protest march on June 11, 2026, denouncing the violence suffered by one of their colleagues, allegedly assaulted by a colonel from the 21st military region. According to the complaint, the incident began when the lawyer accidentally ran over a worn tire envelope belonging to the colonel, then was beaten by his bodyguards and locked in a car trunk.
