FG’s N135bn election litigation budget ahead of 2027 poll faulted

The Resource Centre for Human Rights and Civic Education (CHRICED) criticized the Federal Government's plan to allocate N135.22 billion for anticipated election-related litigation. This allocation, representing about 15.48% of the total election budget, raises concerns about the government's transparency and priorities. CHRICED warned that this budget could weaken public trust in democracy, suggesting that the funds would be better spent on voter education and electoral logistics.
