Palestine football chief says he wasn’t granted US visa to attend World Cup

Jibril Rajoub, head of the Palestinian Football Association, is stranded in Mexico City after attending the 2026 World Cup opener between Mexico and South Africa. He was denied a US visa, joining several other accredited individuals refused entry. The US State Department had no comment but last year implemented new restrictions on Palestinian passport holders. FIFA President Gianni Infantino said FIFA cannot overrule US government decisions.
