Super Eagles defender Benjamin Fredrick signs new Brentford contract, promoted to first team

Nigerian international defender Benjamin Fredrick, 21, has signed a four-year contract with Brentford, with a club option for an additional year, after being promoted to the Premier League club's first-team squad for the 2026/27 season. New head coach Keith Andrews praised his potential and international experience, having featured in Nigeria's World Cup qualifying campaign. Fredrick, who joined Brentford B on loan in 2023 before a permanent move in 2024, also won the Brentford B Players' Player of the Year award. He is currently recovering from a knee injury sustained during his loan spell in Belgium.
