Sports journalist Oma Akatugba claimed that Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye once turned down the advances of a Nigerian billionaire's daughter while he was playing for Sparta Rotterdam. Okoye reportedly said the lady wasn't his ideal woman beauty-wise. Since his debut in 2019, Okoye has received much admiration from Nigerian women for his looks. He is in a long-term relationship with Dutch model Jelicia Westhoff, and they have a son.
