Iran's Supreme Leader Challenges the United States Amid Rising Oil Tensions

Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, stated that the United States suffered a 'shameful defeat' against Iran, amid a ceasefire that has been in place since April 8. Despite this, Washington continues to enforce a blockade on Iranian ports in response to Tehran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian condemned the blockade, while Israel indicated it may need to take action to counter Iranian threats.
