Hantavirus revives fears of Covid-19 pandemic in East Africa

Cruise tourism in East Africa has been impacted by a hantavirus outbreak on the MV Hondius in the Atlantic. Although Kenya does not view it as a threat, health authorities in Mombasa and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport are on alert. Health screening protocols have been enhanced at entry points to inspect vessels and prevent the spread of the virus.
