Kenya Prepares 10,000 Young Athletes, Eyes Global Domination

President William Ruto revealed that more than 10,000 young athletes are enrolled in structured talent development programs run through schools, county governments, and the Kenya Academy of Sports. Ruto hosted the Harambee Junior Starlets at State House after their qualification for the 2026 FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup, citing players like Elizabeth Opiyo, Gaudencia Maloba, and Brenda Awour as products of these programs. He also announced that over 6,000 coaches, trainers, and sports administrators have been trained to improve coaching standards.
